The contrast of each can't be beat

For salty compliments the sweet

In life, the same is also true

Happy feels best when you've been blue


How sweet peace is when right before

Your anger felt just like a war

And salty tears bring sweet relief

From hurt or sadness, pain or grief


What joy in sweetness of deep sleep

When stress has been a slumber thief

And how sweetness comes without fail

From smell of beaches salty air


As Christians, we should be both too

For that's what Christ calls us to do

In fallen world, project sweetness 

Yet, preserve and flavor like salt is


Be honest, dependable, salt of earth

Virtuous and of great worth

Sweet in speech and attitude 

Sweet spirit filled with gratitude 


The contrast is what heightens each

A little salt enhances sweet

Rainbow can't come without the rain

There's sweet relief when end of pain


The salty sweat of hard labor

Then sweet rest afterward to savor

Approach to life just can't be beat

Find joy in both salty and sweet

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
