Autumn Blessings
The air is crisp, turning leaves fall
The summer heat's hard to recall
The squirrels are running all around
Burying acorns underground
The light takes on a golden hue
The morning grass has frosty dew
I hear the football stadium roar
Crackle of bonfire right next door
Watch local marching bands perform
Zip up my jacket to stay warm
Hear honks of geese as they head south
Smell apple pie waft through my house
The temp has dropped, so before dawn
Must throw a second blanket on
The sun is setting way too soon
Did you see last night's harvest moon?
All things are flavored pumpkin spice
Pot roast for dinner would be nice
The trick or treaters ring the bell
Are you a goblin? I can't tell
Though every season has its charm
There's nothing like a pumpkin farm
A hay ride or a corn stalk maze
Such fun ways to fill autumn days
So love the sights and sounds of fall
I thank Creator for them all
I know he painted every tree
Just to instill sheer joy in me
And every swirl of fallen leaves
Reinforces all that I believe
About the endless love from Him
As shown through blessings of Autumn
Ecclesiastes 3:1
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven
Psalm 104:19
He made the moon to mark the seasons, the sun knows its time for setting
