231018 I Stand Before You
I Stand Before You
Do I stand before you
With hands held wide
Expecting blessings
You'll put inside
Or stand before you
With hands upraised
In awe of your glory
And full of praise
Do I stand before you
With head held high
My chest puffed up
With foolish pride
Or instead, do I come
On bended knee
Not full of pride
But humility
Do I plead my case
With angry voice
As if my sins
Weren't my own choice
Demanding that you
Repair my mess
To prove you're God
Thus, pass some test
Do I approach your throne
With downcast eyes
In full repentance
Of sins you despise
Much too ashamed
To gaze toward your face
Yet, seeking your mercy
Compassion and grace
Lord, I stand before you
In reverent awe
Knowing you're all powerful
And I'm so small
Yet, you, God of the universe
Are mindful of me
So, blessed to stand before you
For all eternity
Psalm 8:4
What is man that you are mindful of him...
Hebrews 4:16
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need
