God Feels


There are oh so many feelings

In the life we all walk through 

Feelings of joy, also despair

Fear, anger, but love, too

The circumstances of our lives

Put feelings on display 

But we can find great comfort

Knowing Christ did feel same way

For he was fully human

So he fully felt as we

And so whatever we go through 

Savior has empathy

The awesome truth of knowing that

Is hard to comprehend 

That Christ stepped  from his majesty 

To come and live with men

To feel each human feeling

But, to do so without sin

To master all emotions

Yet, to feel each one within

Feeling anxiety and dread?

Christ did too - sweated drops of red 

Luke 22:44

Feel grief and sorrow - loved one passed?

Christ, Jesus wept for Lazarus 

John 11:33-35

Feeling abandoned and betrayed?

Not one disciple even stayed

Matthew 26:31

Feel overwhelmed  - must get away?

Christ found a quiet place to pray

Matthew 14:13

Righteous anger, you've been through?

Jesus turned over tables, too

John 2:13-17

Exhausted,  though you've tried your best?

Our Savior would take time to rest

Mark 6:31

Your body aches? Enduring pain?

Suffered the cross - our souls to gain 

Hebrews 12:2

Need to forgive, but they're untrue

Think all the Lord's forgiven you

Matthew 5:43-44

Feeling such love your heart could burst

Remember Jesus loved you first

1John 4:19

Charity? Empathy? Gratitude?

All feelings Christ's life did exude

Rejoice over all that you feel

Through each feeling, God can reveal

The depth of his great love for you

Knowing that he feels all things too!

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
