Heart Attack 

You know  you've had a heart attack 
When empathy for others, lack
You know your heart's in a bad way
When only think of self all day

Your heart pumps through to every cell
The vital things to keep you well
But it's known to pump poison, too
If devil's gotten hold of you 

Though not the place where devil starts
Starts first in mind, then attacks hearts
For Satan, if your mind can sway
Then he knows now your heart's in play

Like plaque building in arteries 
Devil damages stealthily
It doesn't build up in one day
But small comprises 'long the way

Heart damage comes from what's consumed 
If lies or lusts, you might feel doomed
Heart's weak with lack of exercise 
Daily reps of self-restraint are wise

And you must look for warning signs
Something's amiss, that all's not fine
Is heart not into worshipping 
Or perhaps you worship the wrong things

Another sign heart's heading south
Is heard in words that leave your mouth 
To hear them, stethoscope don't need
Listen to words, then watch the deeds

For where your heart is, you will see
Then that is where your treasures be
If only treasure earthly things
Then heart disease is what that brings 

A hardened heart can't change; it can't
Without a spiritual heart transplant 
The Great Physician  can only do
The work required to make hearts new

Yet, you must heed Healer's advice
To melt a heart that's turned to ice
To warm it then, you need the Son
The only way it can be done

A clean heart, he can give to you
And also a right spirit, too
For when you give your heart to Christ
You'll join your Lord in paradise 

Ezekiel 36:26 
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it

As water reflects  the face, so one's life reflects the heart

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also

Create in me a clean heart O God, and renew a right spirit within me
