Give and Take

In this world, there are givers and takers
Those with kind hearts and the heart breakers
Some give their all in all they do
While some take what they can from you

Not sure which kind you're talking to
Just watch it in the things they do
A giver's nature's empathy
A taker just thinks, me, me, me

In relationships, there has to be
A give and take mentality 
When there's two takers, before long
Relationship starts going wrong 

Those with a taker's attitude 
Are often void of gratitude 
For minds that have a taker's bent
Grow a sense of entitlement 

To take, take, take's no way to live 
For soon, no one will want to give
Resentful climate they create
When takers don't reciprocate 

Two givers, on the other hand
Enjoy relationship that's grand
I give to you; you give to me
Creating perfect harmony

For those who have a giving spirit
Cause others to want to be near it
The dearest helpers you will find
Are the most empathetic kind

Giving's maturest kind of love
Not self, but puts others above
To think about what others need
Is certainly the giver's creed

Through giving, we become like Christ 
His way is one of sacrifice 
To serve others, not to be served
To love, whether or not deserved

Yes, take God's love, for it is He
That pours it on us lavishly 
Then, in return, give it away
Commands it; so we should obey

Proverbs 11:24-25
One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want

Hebrews 13:16
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God 

Luke 6:38
Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together,  running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you

  Choose Joy Whenever there's a choice to make Let joy be path you choose to take When love and hate are on the scale Let love be one that does prevail When anger - patience doth compete And people we tend to mistreat It's said we sow in what we reap So, sow in patience- temper keep When circumstances bring you down And all you want to do is frown Choose happiness instead, my friend Then soon you'll see your sadness end I know it's easier said than done Often more battles devil's won But get back up and try some more  For after all, God's won the war Choose kindness 'stead of getting back Instead of shortness, practice tact With every godly choice you make The devil's grip begins to break With practice, then quite soon you'll see Good choices come more easily Thus, love and joy will conquer strife Becoming hallmark of your life
