Feelings

Oh, those pesky feelings
How they do get in the way
I really don't feel like
Doing anything today 

I'm not really feeling it
Is something I might say
When adult responsibility 
Is simply what's at play 

I'll do that later on, perhaps
When I feel in the mood
And so put off important things 
And not do things I should 

My feelings can be fickle things
One moment up; next down
Can walk around with smiling face
Which quickly turns to frown

Too often, I give up control 
To other's words and deeds
Allowing feelings to be hurt
And anger to proceed 

And oh, how Satan loves to use
Emotions that I feel
To have me buy into his lies
Believing they are real

Then, acting on those feelings
Oh, so quickly, without thought
Bypassing close analysis 
Not acting as I ought

Of course, God gave us feelings
We are not just some A.I.
For suppressing all emotion 
Is like living in a lie

But balance between heart and mind
Is how we hold the key
To living without needless strife
With peace and harmony

So, certainly feel how you feel
But know that circumstance 
Is not the source of lasting joy
Nor is it happenstance 

For true joy comes from serving Christ
Plus other's in your path
And through these acts you'll feel God's love
A feeling that will last

Let Others Do It Don't really want to put self through it And so I'll just let others do it I'm certain it's too hard for me Sure others can more easily  Don't want to put the effort in Thus, wait for others to begin Not my responsibility  So, really don't depend on me No interest in taking the lead So, wait for others to proceed Though help is needed for a task Don't have the time, so please don't ask Need someone to sit on committee  Look anywhere, but don't look at me I have no interest in the least Besides, don't have the expertise  Ever notice when there's work to do It's often left to just a few The others somehow must be lead Or they'll just stand around instead Perhaps they are a lazy lot  That might be true, but it might not For certainly, there's those that shirk Responsibility and work For some, it's lack of confidence  So initiating makes them tense A fear that they may not succeed Disables them, so don't proce...
