Valuables 

Where do you keep your valuables?
A safe deposit box?
Perhaps  a secret hiding place 
Or container with three locks?

For when we value something 
Then we treat it with great care
Don't want it broken, lost or cracked
Especially if rare

One thing we have that's of great worth
Can't be kept behind a lock
It is the precious gift of time
The tickings of the clock

Though we can't lock time in a safe
It's value's how it's spent
If spent in acts of selfless love
It's thus great investment

Possessions can be valuable 
Like jewelry, coins, and art
But people and dear memories 
Are most precious to our heart

For loved ones should be treasured
More than diamonds or pure gold
The best place for this treasure 
Is for our heart to hold 

Nothing of value's ever free
It comes with sacrifice 
For what we value, we protect
It shows we know it's price

Most valuable investment 
Of our effort, time, and love
Is relationship with Jesus
And the Father up above 

More valuable than anything 
This temporal world provides
For this eternal treasure's not
In safe, but hearts abide

For our Savior's love's so valuable 
It's been marked with highest price
For to die for one's you dearly love
Is the greatest sacrifice 

So, let's value all God's blessings 
Friends and family, memories, time
Cherish them, love and protect them
All are gifts from Lord divine

  Choose Joy Whenever there's a choice to make Let joy be path you choose to take When love and hate are on the scale Let love be one that does prevail When anger - patience doth compete And people we tend to mistreat It's said we sow in what we reap So, sow in patience- temper keep When circumstances bring you down And all you want to do is frown Choose happiness instead, my friend Then soon you'll see your sadness end I know it's easier said than done Often more battles devil's won But get back up and try some more  For after all, God's won the war Choose kindness 'stead of getting back Instead of shortness, practice tact With every godly choice you make The devil's grip begins to break With practice, then quite soon you'll see Good choices come more easily Thus, love and joy will conquer strife Becoming hallmark of your life
