Doors

You've found that door is closed to you
Yet, still you try to barge on through
You're angry, bewildered, even shocked
When find that entryway is blocked

There're things you want on other side
Expected it to open wide
And though you try with all your might
You find that it's still latched up tight

You'd made plans to go through that door
But, God has better plans in store
It just might be closed for a reason
Forever, or just for a season

Might not be one you should go through
Trust that God knows what's best for you
Perhaps it's the wrong door you chose
And so it's better it stays closed

But what if Satan's blocked the way
And so your destiny delay
How can you ever know for sure
To open or keep closed that door

If you have doubts, even concern
Ask God for wisdom to discern
And give you peace as you decide
To walk away or step inside

If way is in God's will, you'll see
Then it will open easily
And if you're barred from going through
Perhaps it was not meant for you

Dear Father, close all doors to me
That you know are not meant to be
Yet, may I always do my part
Keep open the door to my heart
So, when you knock from other side
May I throw that door open wide
Invite you in, to sit and dine
Oh, wouldn't that be quite divine
Then, as my end of life is due
And heaven's doors come into view
I'll know each door you led me through
Was always leading straight to you
