 The Right Words

A friend is having a bad day
On life's rough roads, they fall
You don't know the right words to say
Thus, say nothing at all

A bully taunts as if a game
To him, his words are play
Fear the right words will just inflame
So, look the other way

Their reputation's  ruined
By some gossip that you've heard
Want to confront those spreading lies
How to find the right words

Usually twitter like a bird
Can talk the whole day long 
Must give a speech; forgot each word
Fear you'll say whole thing wrong

A loved one's in the depths of grief
You hear the funeral dirge
Though want to offer some relief
You can't find the right words

You're in despair,  at end of rope
So on your knees all day
You feel your life's devoid of hope
Don't know right words to pray

Know you should  witness for the Lord
Not sure what's right to say
So, you don't share a single word
Instead, you just delay

Don't wait until each word's thought out
Each syllable in place
Trust God, and he'll remove all doubt
No matter what you face

So, seek the Lord first, at the start
Then, do not be deterred
For, He knows what's within your heart
He'll give you the right words

  Choose Joy Whenever there's a choice to make Let joy be path you choose to take When love and hate are on the scale Let love be one that does prevail When anger - patience doth compete And people we tend to mistreat It's said we sow in what we reap So, sow in patience- temper keep When circumstances bring you down And all you want to do is frown Choose happiness instead, my friend Then soon you'll see your sadness end I know it's easier said than done Often more battles devil's won But get back up and try some more  For after all, God's won the war Choose kindness 'stead of getting back Instead of shortness, practice tact With every godly choice you make The devil's grip begins to break With practice, then quite soon you'll see Good choices come more easily Thus, love and joy will conquer strife Becoming hallmark of your life
