 A New Day


Rejoice! God woke you up today!
He's given you a brand new day
For each new one's the greatest gift
You only need to open it

A new day's dawned; your slate is clean
Enjoy each moment in-between 
The rising and the setting sun
Rejoice! A new day has begun

That seems like easy thing to say
But what if storm clouds fill your day?
So hard to sing a song of praise
In middle of the worst of days

What if each day feels hard and long 
And not at all worthy of song
When greeting dawn's not joyful thing
Instead, you dread what new day brings

The way that each new day is met
Is due to where your mind is set
It's what you choose to focus on
Determines how you greet each dawn

If you decide to have good day
You might just find it goes that way
If all you see is misery
Then self-fulfilling prophecy 

So, seize each day God's given you
Not just as something to get through
But as God meant - to be embraced
For once it's gone can't be replaced

Each day's an opportunity 
To live out your own destiny
To have a life that is fulfilled
When living within Father's will

Rejoice in every circumstance 
Seems hard, but give it half a chance
Alternative's negativity 
And that's not where you want to be

And if your circumstance is great 
Then don't forget to celebrate 
Your blessings, and to thank the one
Who woke you with the rising sun

For if the Lord awakened you
Then you still have some work to do
So there is still more to your story
Thus  praise God and give him the glory!

  Choose Joy Whenever there's a choice to make Let joy be path you choose to take When love and hate are on the scale Let love be one that does prevail When anger - patience doth compete And people we tend to mistreat It's said we sow in what we reap So, sow in patience- temper keep When circumstances bring you down And all you want to do is frown Choose happiness instead, my friend Then soon you'll see your sadness end I know it's easier said than done Often more battles devil's won But get back up and try some more  For after all, God's won the war Choose kindness 'stead of getting back Instead of shortness, practice tact With every godly choice you make The devil's grip begins to break With practice, then quite soon you'll see Good choices come more easily Thus, love and joy will conquer strife Becoming hallmark of your life
