240613 Lose Yourself
Lose Yourself
Do you ever feel you lose yourself
In loads of dirty clothes
Or endless list of daily tasks
That only ever grows
Feel nobody sees what you do
Let alone appreciate it
Are overwhelmed and burdened
Til you feel you want to quit
But, quitting's not an option
Neither is running away
And so you simply carry on
Losing yourself more each day
For surely there is more to you
Than long list of "To Do"
Yet, so much of what must be done
Seems to fall on " you know who"
Have lost sight of the real you
In endless drudgery
Of work commutes or shopping carts
Is that all there is to be?
When younger, used to lose yourself
In dreams of future days
But with time's passage, you and dreams
Have gone your separate ways
Perhaps you used to lose yourself
In creative pursuit
But your responsibilities
Have become a substitute
Is all of this just discontent
'Bout who you have become?
Or that the life you're living
Doesn't feel like worthy one?
Trust in the Lord that He has put you
Right where you belong
And all the work that you now do
Was His work all along
For God sees how you faithfully
Do all you're called to do
So praise Him for His perfect plans
Lose yourself in worship, too
