Rebellion 

Mankind has been in full Rebellion 
Since garden with Adam and Eve
"God is withholding, " Satan tells them
And that's what they choose to believe

Devil's Rebellion starts ball rolling 
One third of angels followed him
Rebellious nature keeps on flowing 
For now, we all live lives of sin

Refusing to follow our God's leading
Seen as Rebellion by the Lord
Sinful desires and egos feeding
Behaviors that Father abhors

Time and again, we keep on choosing 
Rebellion instead of the Lord's way
And when we do, we keep on losing
For there must be a price to pay

The Lord's response to our Rebellion 
Seems too impossible to be
We should be treated as a felon
Instead, extends grace and mercy

Yet, our Rebellion must be dealt with
For justice surely must be served
God's holy plan to mete out justice  -
That Christ received what we deserved 

Now, sin no longer brings damnation
For those believing Christ is Lord
Rebellion did not stop salvation 
Thus, one day, we'll go heavenward 

Yet, here we are still living in sin
With Christ's death sin did not depart 
To conquer sin; for change to begin
There has to be a change of heart

Prayer and repentance fights Rebellion 
We learn to hate what God abhors 
No longer buy what devil's selling
We stand for what the Lord stands for

So every day fight rebel spirit
In humbleness, repent of sins
Seek God's voice, and then when you hear it
Do, not your will, but follow His

  Choose Joy Whenever there's a choice to make Let joy be path you choose to take When love and hate are on the scale Let love be one that does prevail When anger - patience doth compete And people we tend to mistreat It's said we sow in what we reap So, sow in patience- temper keep When circumstances bring you down And all you want to do is frown Choose happiness instead, my friend Then soon you'll see your sadness end I know it's easier said than done Often more battles devil's won But get back up and try some more  For after all, God's won the war Choose kindness 'stead of getting back Instead of shortness, practice tact With every godly choice you make The devil's grip begins to break With practice, then quite soon you'll see Good choices come more easily Thus, love and joy will conquer strife Becoming hallmark of your life
