Sharing
We're so eager to share advice
And share our selfies once or twice
Not hesitate, our woes to share
Vacation pics from anywhere
We share more than perhaps we ought
Of whom we know or what we've bought
Try to impress; more "likes" to get
Share way too much on internet
But sharing ourselves to be nice
We have to think about that twice
We're hesitant to share our time
Or to the poor, won't give a dime
For, why should I share with the poor
Isn't that what I pay taxes for
I've no free time, just too busy
To help you or keep company
As child we're taught to share our toys
For that's what makes good girls and boys
Our nature says, " I won't!" It's mine!"
Begrudgingly, we share, but whine
We know it's what a child should do
But, as adults, we should share too
To give and share won't feel like chores
When you remember nothing's yours
Your time and things aren't yours, it's true
For they're all gifts God shared with you
So when you share no thing you'll lack
For what you share you'll receive back
Dear Father, to you goes all praise
For how you've blessed me all my days
Create a sharing heart in me
One filled with generosity
Remind me that all things are thine
And what I have's not really mine
So I can love more selflessly
And share with others lavishly
For that is what Christ came to do
So, I want to love that way too
Make me more like Christ every day
It's in his holy name I pray
