 Life's Opposites

Of world's absurdities must Laugh
Or else I'll want to Cry
For new things to sprout forth with Life
Sometimes old things must Die

My worries looming oh so Large
Though I feel very Small
At end of month I have Nothing 
The bills have taken All

Yet, if I give my tithe up Front
I'm always given Back
Then, find I gave more than Enough 
And somehow never Lack

When circumstances get me Down
Toward heaven, I look Up
Though there's too much upon my Plate
Your mercy fills my Cup

When differences make us be Foes
Jesus says love like Friends
In life's journey, as new path Starts
An old way firstly Ends

Seems trouble I keep getting  In
My Savior's the way Out
What to do now - I'm not so Sure
God's Word erases Doubt

I seek the Lord while day's Early
His help is never Late
He teaches me just how to Love
That's what replaces Hate

My loving Father is so Strong
Can use me, though I'm Weak
So, since I know my sin can't Hide
His mercy's what I Seek

And if I stray and become Lost
Christ searches till I'm Found
He keeps me facing Right Side Up
Though whole world's Upside-Down 

Lord, thank you for each day I Wake
For safety while I Sleep
For joy to cause my soul to Laugh
For comfort when I Weep
Bind all my pieces Together 
No power can Separate 
I thank you for your boundless Love
Despite my sins, you Hate
Oft my behaviors Opposite
But, you God, stay the Same
Tell you how much I love you
And Ask all in Jesus name

  Choose Joy Whenever there's a choice to make Let joy be path you choose to take When love and hate are on the scale Let love be one that does prevail When anger - patience doth compete And people we tend to mistreat It's said we sow in what we reap So, sow in patience- temper keep When circumstances bring you down And all you want to do is frown Choose happiness instead, my friend Then soon you'll see your sadness end I know it's easier said than done Often more battles devil's won But get back up and try some more  For after all, God's won the war Choose kindness 'stead of getting back Instead of shortness, practice tact With every godly choice you make The devil's grip begins to break With practice, then quite soon you'll see Good choices come more easily Thus, love and joy will conquer strife Becoming hallmark of your life
