Apologies
Why do some n're apologize
Seem always full of alibis
And others never accept blame
Or act as if they are ashamed
Have attitude that's quite headstrong
Believing they are never wrong
Seem always looking for a fight
As way to prove that they are right
The type who won't say they're sorry
Though they behave atrociously
"Forgive me," are words they'll not speak
Perhaps they feel it makes them weak
While some are sorry all the time
Like each mistake they make's a crime
Begging forgiveness without end
So worried that they might offend
Behave as fearful, timid, meek
Weigh carefully each word they speak
Apologizing profusely
'Til sorry's all they seem to be
While these two types are opposite
I think there's more to it than that
With arrogant and haughty view
But also with the meek one, too
While seem on separate sides of fence
Both types behaving with pretense
Assuming things that aren't the truth
One whimpering; other uncouth
There is no one that's always right
Nor should one live in state of fright
To dig deeper into pretense
Let's see it from a spiritual sense
To think that you are without sin
Is not a good place to begin
Only one man can make that claim
So we should never do the same
Likewise, constant state of remorse
Is surely not a healthy course
Seeking forgiveness endlessly
From others and the Diety
God isn't pleased with haughty pride
Nor should you be fearful and hide
Neither makes good relationship
Or characterized as true worship
God's who you should show reverence to
A loving Father, he is too
Should be approached with humility
But also safest place to be
Not to run from, but to run to
Convicts but also forgives you
So, seek to have a contrite heart
Let true forgiveness do its part
Ask him to open up your eyes
To when you should apologize
Then, do it with sincerity
God's true forgiveness sets you free
