 Rest

In music piece a rest is as

Required as a note

In life, a rest is needed, too

But often times we don't

In Western world, especially 

Productivity is king 

Resting and recharging battery

Is considered lazy thing 

God made us to have need for rest

As told in Genesis 

And modeled as a sabbath 

For our Maker knows what's best

Still, we think we know better

And so, in God's plan, we doubt

We go and go and rarely rest

Until we're all worn out

God says that we require rest

Commands us to be still

In constant state of busyness 

Can't hear or know His will

Have you ever been around someone 

With whom tried to converse

Knowing they didn't hear a word

In other things, immersed

You wish that they would rest a while

Give you their full attention 

Their busyness makes you feel small

Though that wasn't their intention 

Perhaps our Father feels the same

When we don't rest in Him

Pushed him aside for other things

Filling our days to the brim

Rest isn't just a luxury 

We simply can't afford 

Bodies and spirits need it

To grow well and serve the Lord

It's joy to know, within God's will

Is the perfect place to be

And if you rest within his arms

You'll rest most peacefully
