240814 Praying For You

 Praying For You

I don't know you, nor you know me
Yet, I pray for you earnestly
I see you walking down the street
And pray that all your days are sweet

Don't have to know you or your needs
To pray each hope and dream  succeeds
I see you pull in parking space
Pray all your traveling is safe

Ahead of me in checkout line
I pray that your day's going fine
Don't have to know your name at all
To pray for you to hear God's call

What your life's like, can only guess
Still, I'll pray for your happiness
Pray for the neighbor right next door
That they have people to adore

Hear ambulance's sirens blare
And pray that you are in God's care
May never have walked in your shoes
Yet, pray that you know the Good News

Pray for you and your family
Though you are a stranger to me
Pray for people I'll never meet
That Jesus' love makes them complete

Pray for those in authority
They'll do their jobs with honesty
Pray for teachers and preachers, too
For they have godly work to do

Pray not just for those close to me
But, pray for anyone I see
For, couldn't we all use more prayer
Even those of which we're unaware

The prayers of the righteous are strong
So, I will pray the whole day long
Trusting the Lord to answer them
Whether for stranger or a friend

Yes, let us pray for one another
For aren't we all sister and brother
What peace to know when day is through
That someone's been praying for you
