 The Future

If I should have a crystal ball 
The future, I could see it all
How would I act if  I did know 
Exactly how my life would go 

Would it then cause me to relax
Release the wheel and just sit back
Enjoy the ride, embrace each day
'Cause can't control it anyway

Or would it cause me just to fret
O'er things that haven't happened yet 
Consumed with angst and filled with dread
For knowing what lies up ahead

But, truly do I want to know
Exactly how my life will go
Every event year after year
To know each one before it's here

Though, that would take the mystery out
To know future without a doubt 
Would also take the magic, too
Of every day that I go through

There's joy in how each day unfolds
You might not know if it's foretold
For with the dawn of new sunrise 
The gift of life brings sweet surprise 

Though angst 'bout future makes me tired
With crystal ball, no faith's required 
For God wants us to put our trust
In the good plans he has for us

For he promises a future bright
For all those who in Him delight
So, future, I don't need to know
I'll trust the One who loves me so
And know my future's guaranteed 
Through Christ for all eternity!

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
