240910 Invisible

Invisible

Can't see what is invisible
Yet, know that it is there
Like a breeze or humidity
Unseen, though in the air

For still, we can perceive them
We feel sweaty on our skin
Despite being invisible
Can see effects of wind

There's much that's deemed invisible
Can't be seen by naked eye
Germs, viruses, bacteria
Yet, can make you sick or die

And though I've never seen a germ
I know microscopes can
Even if invisible to me
I make sure to wash my hands

A spider web's invisible
Until I walk right through it
If you're arachniphobic
I'd advise you not to do it

But with the help of morning dew
The web becomes quite clear
Masterpiece of its creator
Thing of beauty, not of fear

My nightstand is invisible
Though it's still there, I know
For when I get up in the dark
I find it with my toe

Of course, it was there all along
But in the dead of night
I simply couldn't see it
Until I turned on the light

And though God is invisible
I'm certain he is there
For evidence that he exists
Is simply everywhere

Can feel him in the autumn breeze
Seen in fragile spider webs
His hand's in all of nature
Sense his power as sea tide ebbs

And in the dark of fallen world
He's the brightest light I know
Makes the righteous path visible
So we don't stub our toe

Yes, our God is quite visible
If we have eyes to see
One day we'll see him face to face
In all his majesty
