 Choices Made

Our lives are marked by choices made
We mostly choose the path we take
With every choice a price is paid
Be wise to think 'fore choice we make

In small decisions, free to choose
With little consequence or thought
Like should I wear black or brown shoes 
Or what to make with fish I bought

While other choices have more weight
Requiring deeper thinking through 
To take this offer 'fore too late
Or save for trip in year or two

Yet, each one's path is marked by choice 
That changed the course of life we've led
Some brought despair, others rejoice
Some chose on own; some others, bred

Hindsight can make things crystal clear
What choices were significant 
For little ones, year after year 
Become a pattern of intent

When choices come from a pure heart
We rest assured they've led right way
When selfishness has played a part
Will find their path has led astray

For Lucifer knows this so well
When tiny compromises make
It's little steps can lead to hell
He hopes that is a risk you'll take

God grants free will to make each choice 
Momentous ones or very small
With prayer, you'll learn to hear his voice 
And ignore Satan's evil call

So, make a habit every day
To seek God with choices you make
He wants to lead you to his way
You're His, by choice, make no mistake

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
