Was Chubby Checker who did the Twist
A dance so fun - hard to resist
I used to dance it way back when
I'd hurt myself if tried again

Have you ever walked and ankle Twist
Perhaps on stairs, last step you missed
Then limp around and wince in pain
And pray you won't do that again 

Speak in public and have tongue Twist?
Want to crawl in hole and not exist
So embarrassing in front of crowd
Vow never more to speak out loud

Perhaps get knickers in a Twist 
From rude behavior that persists
Try to ignore or leave the room
But underneath you start to fume

The devil tries to Twist and turn
The Spirit's words that you discern
To put his lies within your head
Till you're believing them instead

He'll Twist your stomach into knots
Believing what is clearly not
Tries tricking you with lies he spouts
You must be armed to call him out

His Twisted heart will Twist yours so
That bad seems good, and stop means go
Then down seems up and out means in
Which leads you on a path of sin

Our Savior offers Twist of fate
He leads us on the path that's straight 
When close to Christ, his truths you've heard
Then devil cannot Twist His words

Yes, Satan didn't count on this
His story has a huge plot Twist 
His final chapter won't end well
In fact we know, leads straight to hell

So, dance for joy! Let's do the Twist 
For God and sin can't coexist 
Redemption comes from God's own Son
Assuring victory is won

  Choose Joy Whenever there's a choice to make Let joy be path you choose to take When love and hate are on the scale Let love be one that does prevail When anger - patience doth compete And people we tend to mistreat It's said we sow in what we reap So, sow in patience- temper keep When circumstances bring you down And all you want to do is frown Choose happiness instead, my friend Then soon you'll see your sadness end I know it's easier said than done Often more battles devil's won But get back up and try some more  For after all, God's won the war Choose kindness 'stead of getting back Instead of shortness, practice tact With every godly choice you make The devil's grip begins to break With practice, then quite soon you'll see Good choices come more easily Thus, love and joy will conquer strife Becoming hallmark of your life
