241125 My Path
My Path
Not satisfied with path I'm on
Though nothing 'bout it's really wrong
It's just not a good fit for me
Or what I thought my life would be
When I envisioned path in life
I didn't picture pain and strife
Yet, with each mile of road that passes
See that I'd worn rose-colored glasses
Expecting life to be carefree
Not thinking realistically
For no life is like one of dreams
Yet, what I hoped for, so it seems
Reality's quite different one
To dreams; there's no comparison
Yet, when I study more closely
It is a perfect fit for me
For every roadblock in my way
Has made me who I am today
And every hard step, climbed uphill
Gave me the strength to do God's will
Each twist, each turn or sharp detour
Caused me to trust God even more
Each step, blessing from his bounty
All done for the Father's glory
My path's led to this very place
Guided here by God's love and grace
So I'll walk on it joyously
Knowing it's where I'm meant to be
Then, when my walk on earth is done
My path shall lead to heavenly one
Dusty roads turned to streets of gold
Where Jesus's face I shall behold
