 Your Spiritual Walk

Do you ever see others whose spiritual walk
Seems farther along than your own
Who get Bible things that you don't understand 
Somehow closer to foot of God's throne

Do you ever compare to believers you know
And it feels that you always fall short 
Or, try as you might, it just never feels right
To behave like the spiritual sort

Those who praise with arms raised or recite verse with ease
While you search for right words, WHEN you pray
Or perhaps the word's IF, for you have to admit
That you don't talk to God every day

Have you come to believe you just don't measure up
In the Christian life, there's much you lack
When the Bible you read, try to get up to speed 
Do you quickly find you get off track

For the devil, it's true wants to discourage you
And convince you that you're not enough 
Once he has you compare, then you're caught in his snare
Soon, you'll think spiritual walk is too tough

No, don't fret all the rest, just keep doing your best
To walk the straight path and not roam
For the Lord doesn't care how long you've traveled there
Just that you are and it's leading you home

But the simple fact is, that as long as you're His
Matters not long or far that you've trod
Only matters you know that the Lord loves you so
And believe Jesus is Son of God

  Choose Joy Whenever there's a choice to make Let joy be path you choose to take When love and hate are on the scale Let love be one that does prevail When anger - patience doth compete And people we tend to mistreat It's said we sow in what we reap So, sow in patience- temper keep When circumstances bring you down And all you want to do is frown Choose happiness instead, my friend Then soon you'll see your sadness end I know it's easier said than done Often more battles devil's won But get back up and try some more  For after all, God's won the war Choose kindness 'stead of getting back Instead of shortness, practice tact With every godly choice you make The devil's grip begins to break With practice, then quite soon you'll see Good choices come more easily Thus, love and joy will conquer strife Becoming hallmark of your life
