250402 No Complaint

No Complaint

You know the type with axe to grind
Demeanor's grouchy all the time
Unhappy and complaining kind
Who seems unable to unwind

All sunny thoughts they tend to chide
No grievance ever kept inside
When they approach, you want to hide
Their attitude you can't abide

The type who shares their misery
Can darken the room instantly
Each small offense - can't let it be
Seem to live their life joylessly

Not sure what this type hopes to gain
With continuous need to complain
Perhaps have others feel their pain
Thus, every day's the same refrain

Unhappiness, yes, that's the key
To those who lament endlessly
Their tears of woe could fill the sea
Yet, is that any way to be

Those like this are a miserable lot
No gratefulness is what they've got
A loving heart begins to rot
When aggravation burns red hot

Ingratitude is at the root
Unhappiness and fear to boot
Complaining becomes default route
Is there a way to make them mute

Seems complaining is everywhere
That moans and groaning fill the air
At times it feels too much to bear
Are those that do it unaware

Of course, we all fuss in our head
But some voice every gripe instead
And that behavior tends to spread
Till peace and joy are all but dead

Rather than just see woes were given
And all the wrong paths we have driven
Let's count blessings this side of heaven
With gratitude for life were living

For, why should God give us good gifts
When in return we growl or hiss
If we desire a life of bliss
Then all complaining, must dismiss

Instead, let's fill up all our days
Reflecting on God's loving ways
Let all we speak - each word and phrase
Not be complaint, but joyous praise
