250509 Life's Storms

 Life's Storms

Sometimes in life, the storms are great
Seems like they never will abate
Grief, woe, calamity downpour
Till you're sure you can take no more

Sometimes, the situation's grave
Feels like it's a tsunami wave
Drowning hope in flood of despair
That can leave you gasping for air

Sometimes, there seems no place to hide
You're bombarded on every side
Attacked from the left and the right
Till seems that all of life's a fight

Your head is spinning like a wheel
Uncertain what to do or feel
With constant stress, you can't think straight
You need some help 'fore it's too late

You reach out to family or friend
They promise every storm will end
In midst of it, that's hard to see
Through clouded eyes of misery

Yet, Jesus tells you to take heart
Have faith that he will do his part
And though you're not sure what that means
Trust God's working behind the scenes

Making a way where is no way
Leading you through storm day by day
Since end of it is in his hands
You can trust in his perfect plans

So, cling to Christ, he won't let go
The why of it, may never know
But you can know God's faithfulness
He'll lead you to a place of rest

Then, when the storm has finally passed
And you can catch your breath at last
You'll look back to when storm was strong
See God was with you all along

So, in turn, you can help one who
Is going through their own storm, too
A witness to God's love and power
To overcome every storm shower
