250512 Mothers

 Mothers

If love is what makes world go 'round
There's one that's like no other
The deepest and most precious bond
Between a child and mother

For as a child grows in her womb
They grow in her heart, too
A miraculous connection
Even 'fore the baby's due

A love that's truly sacred
Is precious maternal love
Christ's need of Mother Mary
Shows its value from above

And though no mom but Mary
Ever had a perfect child
Each good mother through history
Looked on her own and smiled

Her children's lives wrapped up in hers
In most profound of ways
She'll love, worry, and take pride in
Her children all her days

And every mother's wish is for
Her child to grow up good,
Caring, loving, happy, and sound
Devoid of all falsehood

Hers is a life of sacrifice
Of energy and time
To give her children what they need
No mountain she won't climb

Yes, motherhood's a sacred role
Been so since time's begun
Though we can't all be mothers
Every one of us has one

So, if your mom's still living
Or has reached her final rest
Though human and imperfect
Know by you, she's done her best

Rejoice in all that mothers are
A blessing like no other
Reflection of a servant's heart
And the Lord's love, is a mother

Proverbs 31:28
Her children rise up and call her blessed...
