 World of Hurt

Our world is in a world of hurt
I guess 'cause sin is old as dirt
For ever since sin came to be
Suffering's become our destiny 

The world has hurt since Eden's end
When paradise, Lord did suspend
God did not ever want it so
Yet how it happened, even though

So pain and anguish fills the land
Most often, at the devil's hand
And then we find before too long
That those in pain pass it along

For hurting ones hurt others, too
On purpose or don't mean to do
Then, in return, receive more pain
And thus it starts all over again 

There is a way to help it end
For pain and suffering to mend
To break the cycle, break the chain
A bit of paradise regain

Since we all hurt and know how feels
The happiness and joy it steals
Compassion should be path we choose
In dealing with all pain's issues

For Jesus, too knew pain and hurt
When he was walking on the earth
Though he felt all pain known to man
Yet, loves as only Savior can

To repair your pain's aftermath 
Let God put people in your path
To love, and guide, and counsel you
And help with what you're going through 

Not only that, God put in you
Great Comforter to comfort, too
Those you encounter who have pain
In helping them feel joy again

For you will find your hurt is less
When other's pain you help address
'Cause just like hurt from hurt does flow
Giving out love will make love grow

Then, gradually this world of hurt
Our loving touch starts to convert
And through compassion, ease some pain
Till to Eden return again

In the Garden In my garden I find peace From all the troubles thrown my way My breathing slows, tensions release When digging in the dirt and clay To garden does not feel like toil Or work that I am forced to do It's joy to feel my hands in soil To grow things and watch life renew The weeds don't even make me pout Imagine each one as a care I pluck them up and throw them out Now gone as if we're never there What joy to watch new sprouts appear From bulbs I planted in the fall Their blooms filling my heart with cheer The tulips, daffodils, and all Each early morn while there's still dew And sun has just begun to rise I rush to see what sprouted new Each leaf and bud a sweet surprise  Then, carefully, I tend each one A little water, proper soil The right amount of shade or sun Such pleasant work, nothing can spoil You all are truly gardeners, too  A fact that perhaps you don't know You're sowing things by what you do And also reaping what you grow For when you pla...
