230809 My Savior

My Savior

My Savior is a Carpenter

A Shepherd, Lion, Lamb

My Savior is the King of Kings

He is the Son of Man

My Savior came as a newborn babe

Lowly manger for his bed

Savior, not as man expected

But as little child instead

T'was all a part of Father's plan

As bible had foretold

Who truly was, and why he came

Would divinely unfold

My Savior is a Shepherd

Each of us, his precious sheep

We hear his voice and follow

For our souls does safely keep

Protects from prowling lions

Comes to find us when we're lost

Willingly laid down his life for us

Though He knew how high the cost

My Savior is a Lion

Powerful king of the beasts

Protector of his children

From the greatest to the least

A fierce and fearsome warrior

Defender of what's right

No evil can defeat him

Must succumb to his great might

My Savior is a precious Lamb

Without blemishes or flaws

A perfect sacrifice for sin

Who died to save us all

This Lamb of God is blameless

He is gentle, kind, and meek

Though betrayed by those who knew him best

Not a word in defense did speak

My Savior is the King of Kings

Yet, stepped down from his throne

While still God, became fully man

To make us each his own

Taught us that in his kingdom

To be first, you must be last

To be the servant, serving all

Is what my Savior asked

Sing praises to my Savior

Jesus, how I worship you

Worthy of my devotion

And my adoration, too

For though did not deserve it

Still, you saved me from my sin

And promised me eternity

Paradise to enter in
