231208 Let's Not Forget

 Let's Not Forget

The frenzy has now started

There are carols being sung

Everyone seems more kindhearted

Christmas season has begun

Every child's a joyful hopper

Great excitement fills the air

All the stores are full of shoppers

The big tree has lit town square

Christmas cookies in the oven

Rudolph, Frosty on t.v.

Wrapping gifts for those we're lovin'

Is that little one for me?

Red and green, the season's colors

On the packages and bows

Some are sister's, some are brother's

Whose is this one? No one knows

Every house is extra pretty

Decorations fill each room

Even buildings in the city

Light the night; chase winter's gloom

Stockings hung by fireplaces

Christmas cards are in the post

As we rush at frantic paces

Let's not forget what matters most

For the cards and gifts are lovely

And there's magic in the air

But it's really 'bout a baby

Born alone in stable bare

For the greatest gift the world has known

Can't fit beneath a tree

The LORD above stepped off his throne

To rescue you and me

A Miracle of love profound

Too wondrous to believe

For in a lowly, ancient town

A virgin did conceive

And through the birth of blessed babe

Nothing was as it seemed

God's love was manifest; souls saved

Our sinful lives redeemed

Our fallen world, forever changed

Black darkness pierced with light

With faith and hope, lives rearranged

On that miraculous night

So carol, sure and wrap and bake

But not forget there's more

There's praise to give and time to take

There's Savior to adore!

Isaiah 9:6

" For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given..."
