 The Recipe 

A cup of flour, brown sugar, too

Let's not forget an egg or two

Baking powder, pinch of salt

Where are the chocolate chips I bought?

Softened butter, perhaps nuts

Vanilla extract is a must

When all the mixing is complete

Drop spoonfuls on a baking sheet

Bake just until they're golden brown

Don't eat them until they cool down

Get glass for ice cold milk you pour

Should just eat one - know you'll eat more

The recipe for life's as sweet

As any homemade chocolate treat

Need quality ingredients 

The kind that has been heaven sent

Start with a cup of gratitude 

Add to it sweetest attitude 

Pinch of humor brings the sweetness out

Teaspoons of empathy throughout

A softened heart will bind it all

Plus, childlike wonder to enthrall 

Add faithfulness and patience in

Generosity, self- discipline 

Life's recipe will rise above

When incorporated with God's love

Without love, life's tasteless and bland

But with love, it tastes oh so grand

So, even though life's heat will bake

Heat's hardship, still sweet life can make

When God supplies ingredients 

His love, your life will represent 

Devour life to the last crumb

Then you'll find when your life is done

How joyful and sweet life will be

If you've followed God's recipe

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time?
