 Regrets

What do you do with big regrets

The kind you can't undo

The things you have or have not done

That keep on haunting you

How can you turn back hands of time

And do things differently 

Perhaps make parts of past unwind 

Or erase them completely 

If only you could take the wrongs

And fix them all somehow 

To know so clearly way back then

The things you know right now

Of course, life doesn't work that way 

Some things can't be undone

How to make peace with our regrets

And not relive each one

Without knowing the nature of

Regrets you carry 'round 

I can say with utmost certainty 

Through God, your peace is found

His nature's to love and forgive

Two keys to heal regrets

To love yourself and others too

Forgiving all past debts

It isn't easy, that is true

But from regrets, we learn

Thus, moving forward, we can change

The outcome at next turn

Not in own strength, but with God's help

We can move on in peace

To make amends where needed

Thus, regret's hold to release

So, start today to take the steps

To heal the wounds, you can

Make right all you are able to

The rest, leave in God's hands 

Then, when this glorious life is through 

Though pray won't happen yet

You'll rest in peace knowing you lived

A life free from regret
