Pressure
Pressure's a part of modern life
Perhaps it's always been
Pressure at work or to succeed
Pressure to just fit in
When cares and worries cause us angst
Blood pressure starts to climb
In face-paced world in which we live
We feel it all the time
But, is all pressure really bad
A thing to live without
Something that's only negative
That makes you cry or shout
So, can it be a useful thing -
Tire pressure on your car
Without the right amount of air
You won't be driving far
And what about pressure applied
To stop a bleeding wound
Or food put in a pressure cooker
When you want dinner soon
Let's not forget it's pressure
That makes diamonds out of coal
So, in this complex world God's made
Does pressure have a role?
It takes pressure on the gas pedal
To make a vehicle run
And the pressure of a deadline
Can cause work to get done
It's pressure that makes mountains form
And it can form us, too
For there are lessons to be taught
Pressure can only do
The Master Potter must apply
Pressure to lump of clay
To make a useful masterpiece
For there's no other way
So, when you're feeling pressure
Let the Potter use his skill
To mold you into his image
And to do his perfect will
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trials, for when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him
Isaiah 64:8
But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand
Jeremiah 29:11
Romans 8:28
