240202 Triggers

Triggers What do you find that triggers you? A single thing or quite a few? What kind of action sets the stage To quickly throw you in a rage? What puts a burr under your saddle? When people gossip or kids tattle? Does whining get under your skin And cause your patience to wear thin? What really gets on your last nerve Thus, wish they'd get what they deserve? Lying? Shouting? Do careless drivers evoke scorn And cause you to lay on the horn When next-door neighbors disturb peace Is your first thought to call police? 240201 Patience

Patience I lost my patience yesterday  Said angry words I shouldn't say The tone of them was harsh and coarse Tried justifying - made things worse In heat of moment, lost my cool And did not follow golden rule For I'd not want to hear and see Same impatience afforded me Emotion got the best of me I'm entering a guilty plea For guilty is just how I feel No need to seek further appeal It's times when patience becomes weak Forgiveness is what I should seek To then humbly apologize  Is my next step, if I am wise Impatience happens in a flash And then must deal with aftermath  The anger, upset, confrontation  Require grace for restoration  I can't go backwards  - push replay And take back unkind words I say But with God's help moving ahead Can learn to be patient instead Though I offend God endlessly  He's kind, loving, patient with me Forgiving all I repent of With boundless mercy, grace, and love If strive to love as God loves me I'll grow to act more pat...
