240812 Safe Space

 Safe Space

We're all in search of a safe space
Place where we feel secure
Where can express true feelings
Not feel timid or unsure

We all long for a safe shelter
Where true self don't have to hide
A place where we feel comfortable
Where peace and love abide

We all need an environment
Where life won't feel so hard
An easy going kind of place
Where one let's down their guard

A place where we're accepted
With shortcomings, warts, and all
Where we will be supported
Be uplifted when we fall

How blessed if we call that place "home"
And those people "family"
But in the midst of fallen world
Might not be reality

For those we should be safest with
Could be ones who've let us down
Leaving us vulnerable,  unsure
Turned our safe space upside down

Still safe place's needed all the more
The Father knows that, too
In fact, he's safest place to go
For he knows the real you

Yes, he is our safe shelter
Our true self, don't need to hide
The place where we're accepted
He's where peace and love abide

So run to him for safety
He is worthy of our trust
For he accepts us as we are
With unending love for us
