Today's a day to celebrate 
Excited voice squeals, " I can't wait!"
A birthday party has been planned 
Young boy, teenager, next a man

Seems it was just the other day
We celebrated last birthday
How has it a whole year has passed
Each birthday's coming way too fast

Regardless, celebration's come
Our wish is for a joyous one
For you are such a blessed boy
Who's filled so many lives with joy

Blow out your candles; wishes make
Enjoy ice cream and chocolate cake
Unwrap each gift in bag or box
Hope none are underwear or socks

We've gathered to celebrate you
May all your birthday dreams come true
And as you grow a new year older
May your faith too grow ever bolder

For God has mighty plans for you
Important kingdom work to do
As you grow wiser every day
He's busy preparing your way

So, three cheers for the birthday boy
A source of silliness and joy
May today be filled with games and fun
A birthday that's a memorable one

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
