240913 At War

 At War

Believers, we are in a war
What are you on the sidelines for
We need warriors prepared to fight
Willing to stand for what is right

Perhaps you feel It's not your war
But one fought on another's shore
And thus a problem they should solve
So you don't want to get involved

Or maybe you are not engaged
'Cause you're not sure a war's been waged
From where you stand, everything's fine
No need to draw a battle line

The devil hopes that's how you see
For that, to him is victory
Your battle armor you won't don
If you don't know a war is on

As Christians, we can't be naive
To ways Satan tries to deceive
If of his tactics, we make light
Then he wins with nary a fight

A war is raging, that is clear
If eyes to see and ears to hear
Truth, patience, morals in decline
Increase in hate of every kind

World's evil forces we must fight
Not with our strength, but with God's might
For this war is a spiritual one
So spiritually is how it's won

The Lord says, " The battle is mine"
So, should we sit on the sideline
Or are we called to do much more
Of course, for good's worth fighting for

Good and evil can't coexist
So, can't choose to be pacifist
The stakes involved are much too high
For good to just sit idly by

The devil will end in defeat
Til then, we are Christ's hands and feet
World's suffering we want to ease?
Way to begin is on our knees

From there, we must step in the fray
And battle evil every day
To bravely stand for what is right
In this world's darkness, be a light

Love those unloved, and don't think twice
Bring everyone you can to Christ
Fight for those no one's fighting for
Those far away or right next door

Resist the devil and he'll flee
Spread the Good News to all you see
Share love and God's truth tirelessly
Til Christ returns in victory
