250201 Which Way

 Which Way

Lord, what do you have planned for me

For your path, I'm not sure I see

I want to live within your will

Should I be going o'er next hill

Or should I walk this valley, low

Lord, show me which way I should go 

Not sure at all where I should be

And so I wander aimlessly 

I reach a crossroad  - which to take?

So fearful I'll make a mistake 

Should I go right, or perhaps left

Lord, help me discern which is best

Heard it said I'm where meant to be

That I've been placed here purposely

With all that I've been going through 

Not at all certain that is true

For "purposely" seems far from how

I've come to reach the here and now

Too much seemed quite out of my hands

Like circumstance had other plans 

My life could become a free fall 

With no directive plan at all

God, from your path, don't want to stray

So, could you point me the right way

I know that you will guide my way

How do I live that out each day

For there is much I've still to learn

While walking through each twist and turn

Perhaps that's why this road I've gone 

A path of knowledge,  traveling on

Maybe my focus has been wrong

Gazed on horizon for too long

Seeking the things far up ahead

Not living for today instead 

Though whole picture's not clear to me

Perhaps it is not meant to be

Your word's a lamp unto my feet

Though I can't see my path, complete

Can clearly see the day I'm in

Perhaps that's the way to begin

For Jesus tells me he's the way

Need only follow him each day

So, follow Christ is what I'll do

And leave the rest, Lord, up to you

I'll start each day within your word

And thus begin it self-assured 

That I can trust each word you say

And you will guide me 'long the way
