 When Hope Is Gone

Have you reached the point where you can't cope

Your troubles are too great

You feel that you have lost all hope

Help might just be too late 

Yet, maybe haven't asked for help 

Fearful you'll appear weak

And though you're feeling overwhelmed 

Of it, you do not speak

And so you struggle on and on

Convinced you're on your own

Thinking the battles that you face

You must fight all alone

For your fights, they won't understand 

'Cause they're unique to you

But, don't believe it, my dear child

Others have fought them, too

Or perhaps you don't want to admit

Your mess is of your making

And so feel you're deserving it

Though very soul is breaking

Or even if no fault of own

That you're at end of rope

Thoughts can go to dark places

When you feel you have no hope

It's then you need to recognize 

That's part of devil's ploy

His motives are always the same

To lie, kill, and destroy

And so he will convince you

That your misery won't end

That all is lost; it's hopeless

But those all are lies, my friend

Whatever reason you despair 

Know you are not alone

Your hope is just a prayer away

And so pick up the phone

And talk to someone - they can help

Be it friend or family

If you have no strength to do it

It is found on bended knee

For the Lord sees all you're going through 

He knows all your fears and doubt

He is right there in your darkest place

He's the light that leads you out

So, put your troubles in his hands

He'll carry them for you

He'll lead you to the help you need

And then he'll see you through 

Then, know that every storm will end

There're better days ahead

And trust a loving God to grant

You peace and hope instead
