 Fear

So many live in state of fear
Alarms and sirens all they hear
Increasing levels of concern
Disaster seen at every turn

Those seeking buyers know full well
If you're afraid their wares will sell
So to engage you, fear's the hook
With it, they'll change your whole outlook

Play on your fears, your views to sway
The talking heads do it all day
Those with a platform stir the pot
Insuring unrest stays red hot

Our deep need for security
Can cause us to fear endlessly 
The heart of it's lack of control
This constant angst takes heavy toll

Though can't control worldly events
We can control how thoughts are spent
For, those who keep us agitated
When seen as such, can be abated

They lose their power when we know
Our fears are where they always go
So, if we want to regain peace
Fear's stranglehold we must release

The path to peace can't be more clear
Refuse to buy into the fear
Of course, don't bury head in sand
Just don't choose fear at their command

For, every battle is not yours
And state of fear's not from the Lord
Each trouble is not yours to own
Find peace knowing God's on the throne

Next time your fears take center stage
Or find your thoughts turning to rage
As God for insight to your fear
Sincerely ask, then choose to hear

Next, follow what he says to do
And peace will be restored to you
Put all your fears within his hands
Then trust his good and perfect plans
