250320 Spring

 Spring

Oh, how I love first day of Spring
The daffodils and robin's wing
The fluffy clouds, the sweet primrose
Smell of cut grass within my nose

The sounds of Spring give me such thrill
A chirping wren, the "whippoorwill"
Sweet sound of rain and buzz of bees
The whispers of a gentle breeze

I truly love how Spring does feel
When in the garden soil I kneel
Toes in green grass, warm sun on face
Stirs feelings of our Father's grace

Spring's floral dress, I most adore
Instead of gray one, Winter wore
Green fabric trimmed in Queen Ann's lace
With rainbow ribbon 'round her waist

Spring thrills me in a deeper way
With God's full glory on display
Each nesting bird and blooming tree
Reminds me of Lord's majesty

For in this season of rebirth
I praise Creator of the earth
The maker of such finery
To please and show his love for me

With all Spring's growing that I see
It seems to birth new growth in me
For as sun warms up winter's chill
I seek things only He can fill

The buzzing of the busy bee
Says, do God's work most diligently
A cardinal sitting on her nest
Reminds me I should stop and rest

The humming of the hummingbirds
Says, sing praise though forgot the words
The burst of nature all around
Call, "Stroll and see where peace is found"

The whispers of Spring's gentle breeze
Is Holy Spirit calling me
Reminded watching migrant birds
My eyes should e'er be heavenwards

Though Spring brings storms and blustery winds
They're part of how new life begins
So, I'll rejoice when Spring storms brew
For they're part of my new growth, too

The Father in divine wisdom
Brings Spring to melt the Winter's glum
And sprout new hope in weary soul
To bloom with joy aft' Winter's cold

We thank you, Lord, for seasons new
Each one a blessing straight from you
Your praises we most joyously sing
Today, on this first day of Spring
