250327 Christ's Return

 Christ's Return

Just tolerating this world's strife?
You're biding time till afterlife?
Not finding joy in each new day
'Cause what's it matter anyway

What's life on earth here all about?
Waiting for God's plans to play out?
Hours poured out as through a sieve
Merely exist's no way to live

Future plans on earth, you have none
Just looking heavenward for Son
Not saving for a rainy day
Where you're going, cash has no sway

All earthly capital's been spent
Since Christ's arrival's eminent
Your spiritual ducks all in a row
So now you're in state of limbo

Standing in line, waiting to leave
Christ's return is soon, you believe
You're all ready, you've packed your bags
Yet, what if Christ's arrival lags?

What if God's giving world more time
To leave what's base and seek sublime
To turn away from hate and sin
To seek relationship with Him

And what if you're part of His plan
To spread Good News to fellow man
Not sit around, wait Christ's return
But reach others so they can learn

The glory of God's love and power
Even if it's the eleventh hour
Time Christ returns? Up for debate
Until then, though it's not too late

For God's redemptive truth be told
And bring more sheep into the fold
Show fallen world God's loving heart
His great commission  - do our part

The time is short; we must not shirk
But joyously do Jesus's work
Teach, with surrender, all can earn
Salvation upon Christ's return
