 Love, Peace, and Harmony

Divisiveness seems out of hand
Anger and hate across the land
Is helping people all we can
Part of anyone's battle plan?

If boogeymen are all we see
Then we'll be frightened endlessly
If everyone's an enemy
Where to find peace and harmony?

When with each issue must take sides
Opinion expressed just divides
If human heart's where hate resides
Then, where is it that love abides?

There seems to be no end in sight
Too many looking for a fight
When smallest thing becomes a slight
Can anything be source of light?

Contentious voices fill the air
Relationships in disrepair 
Voices of reason seem quite rare
Is love of God found anywhere?

It seems that peace will never be
And eye to eye we just won't see
Yet, if we cherish harmony
We all must say, "it starts with me"

To live in peace, we know it's true
We can't control what others do
If harmony is what we woo
Then, self-reflection must pursue

Can't put the horse before the cart
It's with ourselves that we must start
If we want discord to depart
Each one must look to his own heart

If broken world's  to be made right
God's people must be in the fight
For, even just the smallest light
Illuminates the darkest night

Reflecting Jesus is the key
To finding peace and harmony
With acts of love devil will flee
Let all of it begin with me

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
