250505 Ode to Women

 Ode to Women

I've been a woman all my life
A daughter, sister, mother, wife
Thus, view things as a women can
Not better but different from man

I see things with a woman's eye
And I am prone to easily cry
Yet, just because I deeply feel
I'm no way weak, but made of steel

For I will never shy away
Of responsibilities thrown my way
I might cry through them, that is true
But, still I'll do what I must do

I'm tough but tender, you can see
Respond to others lovingly
Yet, take a strong stand if I must
When I see things that are unjust

Yes, I am quite the paradox
Can dress in heels or old gym socks
Will use kind words to uplift you
But also have said harsh ones, too

Would give you the shirt off my back
But don't always behave with tact
Will render aid though hour is late
Also known to procrastinate

I'm strong enough to bear a child
And raise them so they don't grow wild
Yet, soft enough to weep inside
When punishing because they lied

Yes, I'm a woman; God made me
The way he wanted me to be
A role that's not the same as men
For I am wholly feminine

And in the Garden, God made each
He made an Adam and an Eve
Both in his image, yet different
In just the way Creator meant

And when God made a him and her
Equipped me to be nurturer
With the desire to feather nest
A plan that Father thought was best

I thank you, Abba, every day
That you chose to make me this way
I celebrate femininity
And everything that makes me me
