 Home Again

Care not how long or far we roam
It's always so good to be home
And though the trip back, we may dread
It's nice to sleep in our own bed

Though travels take us far and wide
It's sweet return where we abide
There're sights to see where e'er we go
Still, pleasant sight's the place we know

There's warm familiarity
Of place we live with family
While travel has exciting air
We know inside we don't live there

Our life is seen as a trip, too
With thrilling things to see and do
Travel companions go along
Some for short while, others lifelong

Yet, if our life's a Christian one
We know our journey's just begun
For though the Earth seems home, it's true
Know really we're just passing through

Like any trip, we seek out thrill
But some things only home can fill
And since this world is not our home
Unsatisfied, despite where roam

Eternal home's the only place
When we see Jesus face to face
That all our longings will be filled
And restless wanderings be stilled

For Jesus' life didn't end with tomb
He's in heaven preparing room
So, when our life's trip reaches end
We know we're going home again
