250604 Broken Trust

 Broken Trust

Relationship has turned to dust
For one betrayed another's trust
Trust given freely at the start
Has ended with a broken heart

Relation's fabric it did tear
Once trust is lost, hard to repair
For even if stitched back together
Scars linger long - maybe forever

Trust given - a most precious gift
Be careful how you handle it
For trust you see in someone's eyes
Can be destroyed with smallest lies

Capacity in all of us
To betray one another's trust
To act without integrity
Thus shown to be untrustworthy

If that's true, there's no guarantee
I can trust you; you can trust me
Then, why should trust ever be given
To anyone but God in heaven

It's easy to go down that path
In trust's betrayal aftermath
To choose to not have faith again
In those to whom cannot depend

And while you can trust God above
His truth, his kindness, faithful love
Trust people - that's another thing
When you have felt betrayal's sting

That's the message Satan will send
There's no way broken trust can mend
Harden your heart; don't even try
But, do not trust the devil's lies

Let Word of God, devil's impede
For trust's a thing that we all need
A fact of which there's no debate
Without it, we'll self- isolate

Or seek revenge for the mistrust
So, give it to the Lord who's just
Regaining trust - God's where you start
When seek him he'll soften your heart

Forgiveness is also a must
So pray for those who broke your trust
Then God will repair hurt and pain
So sense of trust you can regain
