230901 What To Do

What To Do

Dear God, I don't know what to do

Your word says give it all to you

And if I tell you I've done so

What's your response? How will I know?


Am I supposed to sit around

Until perfect solution's found

For somehow, that does not seem right

Nor does it help me sleep at night


So, I suppose if I can't sleep

Then my troubles I must still keep

Might not have put them in your palm

For if I did, then I'd be calm


Yet, I've decisions I must make

Family's well-being is at stake

But, I suppose you know that too

So, tell me, Lord, what I should do


I'm trying to surrender all

And listen to you when you call

Troubles and worries make such noise 

That it is hard to hear your voice


Your word says cast my cares on you

I promise, Lord, I'm trying to

Sometimes, just not sure what that means

Or what to do in in-betweens 


For I'm a doer, as you know

Seems doing something's way to go

Yet, I will do what e're you say

Do best to stay out of your way


And if you ask me just to wait

I'll trust you, for you're never late

For waiting, I know tests my faith

And shows my trust is in right place


You say battle belongs to you 

If you have said it, then it's true

So I surrender; give up the fight

Knowing that you will steer me right


For though, still not sure what to do

I know, God, that you always do

So, I'll be still and trust you, Lord

Then act when you give me the word

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
