 No Responsibility 


T'would be wonderful to live a life 
With no responsibility
With nobody to answer to
No one, that is except for me

Nobody saying what to do
No authority anywhere 
The freedom to do what I please
And nobody would care

Nobody I'm beholden to
No one depends on me
To be the captain of my ship
With no responsibility 

Yet, even captains need a crew
If intend their ship to move
And proper attention must be paid
To be assured the sailing's smooth

Responsibility can be hard
Yet, fills life with purpose, too
For there's great satisfaction in
Knowing others depend on you 

For, even if live by yourself
There's  things to take care of
And of course we've obligations
If anyone in life we love

No responsibility seems like a gift
When total opposite is true
For without responsibility 
It means no one has need of you

Your life would have no purpose
And you'd find before too long
That if you were to go away
No one would know you'd gone

So, to live just for self alone
Is quite lonely life indeed
For, loved ones placed within our lives
Are blessings we all need

Thus, with responsibility 
You are now part of a team
What once was viewed as burden
In reality's a dream

For, in Lord's perfect balance
I need you, and you need me
To live for others and for God's 
A blessed responsibility

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
