 A Good Day

I think today is a good day
'Cause that's what I want it to be 
So I'll create the good in it
As much as it is up to me

Decided today's a good day
Though storm clouds now are blowing through 
For I know they'll wash dirt away
And soon again, see skies of blue

I choose to have good attitude 
And thus, plan to have a good day
I'll keep chin up and spirits high
No matter what life throws my way

The kind of day I hoped to have
Is just the kind God's given me
I've chosen not to see my woes
Ignoring them deliberately 

I'll never have a perfect day
If countenance is always glum
When gratitude is what I choose
The perfect days will often come

Won't let the devil have his way
For he will tell me otherwise
Won't listen to the lies he says
Instead, see things through Jesus' eyes

For every day God's given me
Is one that He's meant for my good
And though each moment's not that way
There's much to praise Him for - and should

So, yes, today is a good day
Blessed in more ways than I can count
Days put together make good life
The kind I have without a doubt

How Did I Get Here? How did I get here? I don't know Seemed sometimes fast, other times slow Though, does not matter what the pace Still wonder how came to this place How did I reach this point in time? Reality of it's so sublime For most of journey was uphill Through hard fought land, yet, I'm here still How did I get from there to here? In baby steps year after year?
