240701 Love Yourself
Love Yourself
How can I really love myself
My flaws are quite a few
But, if I don't have love for me
It's harder to love you
If judge myself with critical eye
May judge you that way, too
It's said the vice we see in them
Is same vice that we do
Yet, loving me seems selfish thing
In world that worships "self"
But that's devil's perversion
For God made me like himself
If Satan is your enemy
Then why repeat his lies
He'll tell you you're not good enough
Or self, you should despise
You are a mess, don't measure up
His lies have you believe
Don't you know that the devil's plan's
To kill, destroy, deceive
For, how you think about yourself
Repeats inside your head
Can listen to what Satan says
Or hear God's words instead
The devil says you're worthless
Jesus says, worth dying for
Satan says you are unlovable
Yet, God loves you more and more
Devil points out each mistake you make
Ask, and Lord forgives each one
Satan says you won't amount to much
Father molds you like his Son
Deceiver says of all God's made
You surely are the least
To God, you're His beloved child
A precious masterpiece
Yes, love yourself; there's none like you
Further, extend self grace
In life, your roles uniquely yours
Thus, you can't be replaced
So, see yourself as God sees you
Worthy of love by you
For, when you love yourself enough
Then, you can give love, too
